Parents Role in Seminary

The youth of the Church face difficult choices about how they will spend their time. Many students are involved in extracurricular activities that take place early in the morning or late in the evening, which can make it difficult to make time for seminary. One of the most important things parents and leaders can do is help their youth enroll in seminary.

President Boyd K. Packer taught: “Parents, encourage, even insist, that your students register for seminary or institute. Presidents, bishops, youth leaders, you are responsible to encourage every youngster, without exception, to enroll. Few things you do will benefit them quite as much” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1983, 91; or Ensign, May 1983, 67).

This website has suggestions for ways that your youth can succeed in seminary. You can also see more prophetic quotes on the importance of seminary and institute.
